Ultra-Wide Voltage Range and High-Level Precision — POWERQUARK Launches the Automotive-Grade eFuse PQ77010Q

2025-06-12
POWERQUARK announced the launch of the automotive-grade eFuse PQ77010Q. With an ultra-wide operating voltage of 60V and high-precision current detection capabilities, it provides flexible and reliable safety assurance for customers' next-generation automotive electronic applications. PQ77010Q complies with the AEC-Q100 standard, supports soft start for capacitive loads and Limphome limp mode, and offers a variety of system protection and diagnostic functions, including overcurrent, overtemperature, undervoltage, and MOSFET saturation protection.

Exceptional Performance for Diverse Automotive Electrical Systems

As the performance of electric vehicles continues to improve, the current 12V battery systems in passenger vehicles and the 24V battery systems in commercial vehicles are gradually shifting towards 48V systems to support more efficient energy management and stronger electric propulsion. POWERQUARK's first eFuse product, PQ77010Q, with its ultra-wide operating voltage of 60V, not only excels in traditional 12V systems but also extends to support 24V and 48V electrical systems, providing room for customers' system upgrades.
PQ77010Q features high-side current detection, maintaining high precision across an ultra-wide temperature range of -40°C to 150°C. This allows for more sensitive detection of circuit anomalies and reduces unnecessary system interruptions caused by misjudgments.

Diverse Functions for Flexible Customized Control Systems

Automotive controllers typically contain a large number of capacitive loads with high capacitance, which can generate significant transient currents during the startup process. To reduce the current surge caused by this process and free up resources occupied by frequent communication between the eFuse and the controller, PQ77010Q integrates soft-start technology. It can automatically turn on and off during startup, providing smooth and stable current support to the system.
PQ77010Q also includes a dedicated pin that allows users to configure soft start and Limphome limp mode. Engineers can flexibly adjust the overcurrent protection time to meet the needs of different controllers and achieve customized body control.

Comprehensive Protection for Safe and Worry-Free Operation

PQ77010BQ integrates a variety of protection mechanisms, covering potential risks such as load overcurrent, undervoltage of the voltage source, overtemperature of the chip and external MOSFET, and saturation of the external MOSFET and internal PMOS. It ensures safe driving for users. The built-in I2T protection can be configured via registers to set overcurrent threshold and time parameters, adapting to the smoke curves of different cables and materials.
For functional safety, PQ77010Q is equipped with rich self-check functions, including current detection, drain-source voltage (Vds) detection, continuous MOSFET conduction, and LIBST self-check. These features ensure the effective and stable operation of the chip itself.
